«LEX GLOBALMINDS are inviting businesses from Spain and across the EU in Digital Health, MedTech, Health & Care, Biotechnology and CleanTech domains to join the launch of the Global Innovation Super-Highway initiative into Singapore. Running 20-30th October, participating businesses have the opportunity to explore and immerse into Singapore’s exciting and highly dynamic ecosystems and networks. Participants will gain appreciation for Singapore’s enviable position as a regional leading economy, and a potential launchpad into the wider ASEAN and APAC markets. This Learning Expedition will ensure participants are readily guided through well-structured presentations, workshops and meetings, with options to participate in Singapore’s flagship SWITCH event, in addition to a short introductory visit to neighbouring Malaysia.»

The new ECHAlliance member LEX GLOBALMINDS will be holding its next healthcare sector international Learning Expedition in Singapore through 20th to 30th of October 2024. This Learning Expedition is part of the activities related to their Global Innovation Super-Highway innitiative, which is arranged as a 3-Phase program; through “Explore’, “Engage” and “Exploit”, aiding businesses in achieving market awareness, readiness and engagement, while streamlining market entry and expansion processes.

Singapore presents a unique and compelling opportunity for companies in the Digital Health, MedTech, Health & Care, Biotechnology and CleanTech sectors due to its strategic location, robust and advanced infrastructure, and its transparent, pro-business government policies. As a leading financial hub, on par with London and New York, Singapore offers excellent opportunities for international project funding and minimal bureaucratic barriers, making it one of the world’s most open economies for investment and business.

By attending this Learning Expedition, participants will gain contextualised essential insights into Singapore as a spearhead market, as well as a gateway to the wider ASEAN and APAC markets. We shall cover essential introductory learnings of national and regional markets and dynamics, ecosystems and networks, legals, Intellectual Property, regulatory landscape and compliance, skills and workforce planning, and financials. In addition, we shall explore the market, its general maturity and development, the status of competition, and the potential and prospect for strategic partnerships and engagement. With access to a highly skilled workforce, a thriving innovation ecosystem, significant levels of investment and access to substantial finance, this is an ideal chance for companies looking to expand into Asia and tap into networks, collaboration opportunities and prospective funding partners in the region.

Following recruitment and enrolment, there will be a pre-visit preparation stage to enable proper introductions and to examine the value proposition of each participant. This preparation stage aims to ensure that all companies are strategically aligned with the opportunities in Singapore.

The actual visit shall be divided into two sections:-

In the first week, from October 21-25, 2024, participants will explore Singapore’s health, biotechnology, and care innovation ecosystem. The week will include visits to key institutions and stakeholders from the Singaporean ecosystems and Singapore-based international business representatives. The delegation will engage in meetings and workshops with local and international companies, focusing on building strategic partnerships. Visits to highlighted institutions and entities will provide valuable insights into Singapore’s thriving digital health, healthcare and biotech sectors.

The second optional week, from October 28-30, 2024, will centre around Singapore’s showcase SWITCH Innovation and Technology Fair, where participants will attend guided tours and networking events that showcase the latest advancements in health, biotech, and digital sectors. This extension provides the additional option to visit and explore Malaysia  as a second market and/or manufacturing and innovation hub for companies based in Singapore, with further B2B meetings and site visits.

Following the expedition, there will be a review and follow-up session conducted to assess outcomes and define the next steps, focusing on follow-ups and helping to identify specific opportunities to drive engagement and traction, form partnerships and prospect for commercialisation and scale.
